The Hub Supports Peddling For Pubs
Here at The Hub, it’s not always about good food and good marketing – sometimes it’s about getting involved with a good cause. That’s why we’re proud to be ‘Getting Behind the Bar’ by providing our services of expert industry knowledge, press support, campaign planning and spreading the word for a new charity cycling challenge with hospitality at its heart:Pedalling for Pubs.
Created in recognition and support of disadvantaged people across the pub, brewery and wider hospitality sectors, 26 of the biggest names in the bar and food service industry will battle intense heat and rocky conditions to cycle 335km across Jordan with the aim to raise over £140,000 in donations, Spring 2020. The money raised will be used to fund projects run by The Licensed Trade Charity (LTC) and Only A Pavement Away (OAPA), with the challenge envisioned and organised by KAM Media in collaboration with the two registered charities. The Hub will also be applying its wide breadth of knowledge, skills and experience in trade hospitality to support Pedalling for Pubs reach each peak on its journey to raise money and awareness.
It is estimated that around 250,000 people working in the licensed trade are in need of support at any one time , often faced with financial pressures, emotional stress or sudden change in circumstance that can leave them desperate for a helping hand.
At the same time, in 2018, 320,000 people in the UK were registered homeless and growing . With 1.3 million vacancies expected in the pub and restaurant industries by 2024, hospitality is the third largest employer in the UK, as well as the perfect opportunity to promote fair employment for disadvantaged people.
Pedalling for Pubs is committed to helping these causes through the hard work of LTC and OAPA, as well as promoting higher visibility for positive change in the hospitality industry as a whole – powered by KAM Media.
