Enjoying a fruitful visit to Loddington Farm

After months of Zoom meetings it was great to be back among our media friends and clients on Tuesday for our press visit to Loddington Farm in Linton, Kent, the home of Owlet Fruit Juice. Luckily yesterday’s downpour and gales subsided as we were welcomed with a cup of steaming Spiced Apple juice before a tour of the orchards with Owlet’s Managing Director, James Smith.

James’s passion for the regenerative farming strategy he employs at Loddington was evident as he spoke about working in harmony with nature to grow apples and pears without the use of synthetic fertilisers or herbicides. He explained how, in just a few weeks’ time, the orchards would be filled with different species of flowering plants that help to promote soil health, which is at the heart of a regenerative agriculture system.

As the saying goes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so having seen the orchards we were treated to a tasting of Owlet’s delicious range of single variety juices and juice blends while tucking in to a tempting array of canapés prepared by local restaurant the Curious Eatery.

Without doubt, Loddington’s environmentally friendly growing operation and simple pressing process results in juices that are outstanding in flavour and really do have that ‘just picked’ taste.

And so, after a very welcome return to something approaching normality, it was time to leave Loddington laden with a box filled with Owlet juices and other goodies produced by the farm’s partners including Musket Beer, Turners Cider, Kampa Coffee, 58 Gin, some Blooming Green flowers, walnuts, a bunch of asparagus and tickets to Blue Reef Festival.
