An award Winning Month
June saw the Hubbies get their glad rags on and celebrate the very best of the hospitality industry at not one, nor two…but four fantastic award ceremonies.
First up, Rebecca and Jonathan were lucky enough to spend an afternoon with the winners of the 2019 Cash & Carry Management Chefs’ Own-Brand Awards at Westminster Kingsway College, which took place over a delicious three-course lunch prepared by future stars of the catering world presently training at the college. Judges included Andrew Green and Matt Owens from The Craft Guild of Chefs and Jason Gordon from Compass Group. Winners on the day included Bidfood, Brakes and Country Range Group.
Next up, Charlotte, Rebecca and Nick pulled a two-dayer, attending both the Footprint Sustainability Awards and Craft Guild of Chef Awards along with event sponsors and members of both associations, Nisbets. The Footprint Awards, which were hosted at RIBA, saw the sectors most sustainable suppliers come together to recognise the incredible green initiatives underway across the industry. Sitting with winners of the Stakeholder Engagement Award – Lexington Catering – the party continued long into the night.
The following evening, we hot footed it over to The Craft Guild of Chef Awards for a truly delicious evening of fine dining…in the company of the UK’s leading chefs, including the Tanner Brother’s, Raymond Blanc and Michael Caines…and that really is just naming a few!
Finally, Lucy was lucky enough to get her tea and cake on at The Afternoon Tea of the year awards, an initiative from H2O publishing. The weather just about held out for an afternoon at Westminster Boating Lake, where Pennyhill Park walked away crowned as having the best afternoon tea proposition in the country.
