EXPLORING THE OPPORTUNI-TEAS IN HOT BEVERAGE FOR 2018
Following the successful launch of the inaugural Tea Report in 2017 and a fantastic response from the industry including widespread media coverage, Tetley commissioned The Hub to create an ever bigger and better report to kick start 2018!
To celebrate its 180th year and demonstrate Tetley’s commitment to the continuously evolving tea category and supporting foodservice operators, the Tea Report 2018 explores the complete landscape of the out of home tea category. Working in collaboration with CGA, research experts in the food and drink market, 2,500 consumers were questioned on their eating and drinking out habits, perceptions about the quality of tea out of home and the channels in which they consume tea. In addition Tetley commissioned interviews with a series of industry experts, to offer their outlook on the foodservice industry post the EU referendum and the hot beverage category as it stands today.
Cutting through the noise, the report reviews the trends that matter most to operators, looking at new tastes in tea, premiumisation, the booming breakfast occasion and the future of the category. It also takes a deep dive into the key channels for the tea category in foodservice, reviewing and challenging perceptions around quality of serve and looking at the opportunities for operators to attract custom with a standout hot beverage offering.
Held at the Century Club in Shaftesbury Avenue, the launch event was buzzing with a full house of journalists from across the foodservice media titles as well as attendees from the BSA, BDA and UK Tea Academy. We started proceedings with an overview presentation of the report alongside a delicious afternoon tea, followed by a panel debate and some much enjoyed tea cocktails. With widespread media reporting, extensive customer distribution and more in the pipeline, the Tea Report 2018 is a must-read for anybody operating in the foodservice industry…best enjoyed with a cuppa of course!
